Proverbs 22:7




The Bible never states that borrowing or debt is a sin. However, check out these inspirational quotations to see that it was never God's intention for His people to be in debt. When you are the borrower, you put yourself into the position of servant to your creditor. In some instances, borrowing money could be seen as a curse for disobedience.

Deuteronomy 15:1
At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts. (NIV)

Deuteronomy 15:6
For the LORD your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you. (NIV)

Deuteronomy 28:12
